The charter market is steadily growing - 19 new charters opened in the 2011-2012 school year and more are on their way. MAPSA works closely with groups who receive federal dollars to plan a new charter school.

At MAPSA we are committed to connecting our schools with quality businesses to support their growth and sustainability. Our charter schools want centralized access to a range of businesses that will help them improve their operations and more effectively serve their students. Below is a list of frequently asked questions about the Charter Marketplace Program.

Will my company be listed on MAPSA’s website?
Your business will be listed in our Marketplace categorized by the product or service that you provide. MAPSA’s Marketplace also offers a rating system so that you can gain continuous feedback from your customers. There is no better referral system! Tell the organizations you work with to provide their reference of exceptional service. Once you have reached five quality references (4-5 stars) on our Marketplace, you are eligible to become a Referred Provider!

What do I get when I become a Referred Provider?
Once you have received five quality referrals, you now have access to a 30-minute marketing meeting with MAPSA’s experienced staff to review your marketing materials, provide feedback and give you suggestions to best reach your market! You will also have access to an elevated level of promotion, including the use of our “Referred Provider” logo. Referred Provider logo and guidelines will be supplied upon earning the new designation.

What can I do to educate the charter market on my company’s product or service?
Host a webinar or conference call to highlight your product or service. With MAPSA’s assistance we can help to recruit participants to maximize participation! Find more information on webinars at www.charterschools.org or email Heather Risner at hrisner@charterschools.org.

Utilize your customized mailing list to reach out to your target market.

Will I receive email addresses on my customized mailing list?
Unfortunately, we do not provide email addresses at this time, as we have received feedback from our schools that email is not their preferred method of contact from businesses. MAPSA can help you identify your target market if you are new to the charter movement in order to get you off to the right start and provide an updated mailing list once per year.

What additional opportunities for exposure does MAPSA offer?
There are many additional opportunities available to Providers throughout the year including sponsorship. Not only do we provide a multitude of sponsorship packages that are customizable at our annual conference, we also provide opportunities year round for many events that MAPSA hosts.

What advantages do I have as a Provider if I exhibit at MAPSA’s annual conference?
Providers who exhibit at the Michigan Charter School Conference receive advanced notice on booth space, recognition at conference and in the program guide, as well as a discounted price. Discounted booth pricing at the conference can only be redeemed once within one-year of your Provider status.

The dates for Providers within our Marketplace Program are rolling. You can access your benefits as soon as we receive payment. Expiration of the program expires 12 months from the date your status commenced.

Unfortunately, MAPSA’s logo is copyrighted and can only be used by MAPSA for purposes they see fit.  However, once you reach Referred Provider status, you will have access to MAPSA’s Referred Provider logo!
