Get Ready for Common Core! MAPSA Sponsors Four-Day Workshops
Is your school ready for Common Core Standards? You will be – if you attend MAPSA’s four-day Common Core Essentials Workshop. Registration is taking place now for the sessions, which take place in December, February and March.

Limited space is available, so you’ll want to sign up as soon as possible. This is the premiere Common Core Standards workshop being offered in Michigan, and it’s available only through MAPSA. In just four days, you’ll learn everything you need to know to help your school be prepared to implement the Common Core Standards.

The sessions are being presented by Cynthia Millinger, CEO and founder of Charter School Essentials. A leading expert on the Common Core State Standards and the national PARCC and Smarter Balanced assessments, Millinger has used Common Core Essentials to help many charter schools and founding groups in Washington, D.C., New York, Georgia and New Jersey develop and implement authentic Common Core-based curricula.

Help Available to Meet New MUSIC Insurance Requirements
As of July 1, the new MUSIC insurance requirements have been implemented for charter schools across Michigan. The General Agency office is busy providing documentation to the authorizers to assure that compliance is met. If you have any questions, feel free to contact General Agency at 800-589-6982 or stop by their booth at the Michigan Charter School Conference.
