Good Things Happening in Our Schools:
David Ellis Academy Students Take Anti-Bullying Message to the Streets
Students at David Ellis Academy West took to the streets of Redford earlier this month, in an effort to raise awareness of bullying issues. The students were holding signs and chanting “we’re buddies, not bullies!”
The march followed an assembly with J Line, a performer that travels across the country doing concerts, as well as sharing an anti-bullying message with middle and high schools.
“We thought, ‘what way can we not only take a stance that David Ellis Academy doesn't tolerate bullying, but get it intrinsically into students?’ ” Principal Tichael Jones told the Redford Observer. “We wanted to motivate them, as well as have the national group come in. Just have a way of being fun.”
