MI-CIS (MIchigan Compliance Information System) is a system of live support and an easy-to use, web-based computer application for Special education and early intervention compliance management and student tracking. This project succeeds RMS2000 and EETRK from previous state projects. MI-CIS is a system that: can be used by schools and agencies as an everyday central registry system for program and compliance management can be used by state and local staff for online processing and support related to waivers, deviations, approvals, monitoring, and other compliance tasks. Provides for data exchange capabilities with local software systems at LEA/ISDs, including SRSD compatible data will be used by OSE-EIS to compile December 3 data from all sources to meet the annual federal reporting requirement. MI-CIS will: - provide secure and flexible access to a web-based system for data entry, reporting and user support - consolidate redundant data entry and reporting across early intervention and 0 - 26 years of age special education programs and services - simplify and validate the task of data entry with on-screen email and telephone support - target live and automated assistance/training by ongoing analysis of user comments, suggestions and feedback - provide immediate system-wide upgrades via the web-based system provide user-friendly data mining reporting tools for both standard reports and ad hoc queries required for specific compliance needs - provide low-maintenance solutions for better data sharing in schools and communities - provide an expandable architecture for future growth as state and federal mandated requirements change.
