MAPSA's membership consists of various charter schools, charter-granting entities, business organizations, and individual supporters. Most of Michigan's operating charter schools are dues-paying members. Additionally, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Lake Superior State, Oakland, Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State universities are members of MAPSA.

Many business organizations such as the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Edison Schools and National Heritage Academies are also proud MAPSA members. Also, an ever-growing number of parents are joining as individual members and receiving regular updates on MAPSA's activities.

Currently, the dues structure is as follows:

Operating Charter Schools
- $300, plus $2.25 per student (300 students or less); $600, plus $1.25 per student (301 students and over)

Educational Service Provider 
- $500, plus $150 per school

Authorizers (Charter Granting Entities)
- $1000, plus $500 per charter

Businesses, Organizations, Pre-operational Charter Schools
- $500

Individual Supporters
- $50
