One of the world’s leading centers of education, science and art, Cranbrook was founded in 1904 by newspaper publishers and cultural patrons George and Ellen Scripps Booth. Today, Cranbrook Educational Community is comprised of its Institute of Science, Art Museum, Academy of Art, Cranbrook Schools and other affiliated cultural properties. Cranbrook’s 319-acre campus in Bloomfield Hills is a National Historic Landmark graced by architecturally significant buildings, outdoor sculpture and tended gardens. Cranbrook is visited by more than 500,000 people annually from metropolitan Detroit and from around the state, nation and world. By leveraging its unique environment and resources, and collaborating within and beyond its campus boundaries, Cranbrook strives to engage learners of all ages through both formal and informal educational programs and structure.
