Kerri Barrett is the principal at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science. She feels very fortunate to have led this school for the past 7 school years. Throughout this time, WMAES has increased enrollment by over 200 students, built a brand new elementary building, and just finished construction on a new Early Childhood Center. In 2015, she was recognized by Choice Schools Associates as their school leader of the year, and was nominated as a top 5 finalist for MAPSA's 2019 Administrator of the Year award.

**Q**: What are you most excited for at #MiCSS19? 

**A**: I am excited to collaborate with charter school leaders to continue to improve how we impact our students.

 

**Q**: What's one adjective you would use to describe your session? 

**A**: Captivating

 

**Q**: What's one thing you hope attendees learn in your session? 

**A**: I am hopeful they will have an understanding of utilizing various digital communication strategies to engage their community.
