Koree Woodward 

Principal

Grand River Preparatory High School 

In 2004, Koree began her career in education as a middle school science teacher at Black River Public School in Holland, Michigan. She enjoyed 5 years at Black River before accepting the Assistant Principal position at Grand River Preparatory High School in Kentwood, Michigan. After 2 years as Assistant Principal, Koree became the Principal of GRP and is now in her 8th year as a school leader. Over the past 10 years, she has helped grow GRP from just under 200 students to now over 600.- and it is regularly ranked as a top high school and charter school in Michigan. Korree was also named the 2019 MI Charter School Administrator of the Year.

Q: What are you most excited for at #MiCSS19? 

A: I'm excited to connect with leaders engaged in the same mission as I am and looking to increase their leadership capacity!

 

Q: What's one adjective you would use to describe your session? 

A: Authentic

 

Q: What's one thing you hope attendees learn in your session? 

A: I hope that my colleagues will take a few "nuggets" or ideas that they believe they can readily do and will make a difference in their work.
