Matthew has led anti-racism work for over fifteen years. He has also been involved in activism for his entire life. He founded Overcoming Racism, which seeks to build more equitable institutions, through comprehensive race and equity training. With a primary focus on education, Overcoming Racism equips educators with the tools to build culturally responsive schools and classrooms, that promote the development of the next generation of anti-racist agents of change. In addition to his work with Overcoming Racism, Matthew has also served as a social studies teacher, instructional coach and school administrator in New Orleans, LA. He has been recognized as a top 100 visionary leader by Real Leaders magazine and in 2018 was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the state of Louisiana.
