Twenty outstanding educators from all corners of Michigan have been honored as semifinalists for the 2021 Michigan Charter School Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year Awards.

Michigan is home to over 10,000 charter school teachers and more than 1,500 charter school administrators statewide. Over 700 nominations were received from parents, teachers, school leaders, and even students who wanted to recognize the incredible educators working in our urban, suburban and rural communities across the Mitten. There are educators from elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Geographically, they come from rural areas, suburban areas and urban centers in all parts of the state.

From nearly 150 applications, 10 outstanding teachers and 10 outstanding administrators were selected as semifinalists for our 2021 cycle, each of whom embody the values that make charter educators unique - innovation, professionalism, and a passion that drives success in their classrooms and schools.
