This reflective book study will help you build a vision for effective and committed teaching, with led assignments, feedback and reflection along the way. You'll finish this segment by shaping a personal vision statement and setting goals within your portfolio.

Each candidate must actively participate within a learning environment for a reported 15 hours
Candidates will actively capture their experiences in the classroom, inclusive of reflection on goals and challenges set by the individual as a form of experience and practice. Candidates will then have multiple virtual meetings with their cohort coach, who will offer feedback and dialogue on observations.
Developing Effective Teacher Practice
Developing Effective Teacher Practice will help you cultivate the skills and strategies you'll need every day, from learning how to teach in diverse cultures, to practicing key classroom management strategies. Learn more below:
This online course will explore the Danielson model, which offers a highly-effective teaching framework. Candidates will implement and reflect on classroom management goals and strategy within the classroom over the course of 6 weeks. The guided study will focus on fundamentally building relational capacity with both students and parents.
Each candidate will set goals, then work with their coaches and mentors to find support and reflect on lessons learned around this content area.

This section will explore the critical social competencies that are necessary for academic and life success, such as resiliency, self-management and responsible decision-making.
Each candidate will set goals, then work with their coaches and mentors to find support and reflect on lessons learned around this content area.
This course will explore Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a practice of educating kids about behavior, just like other school subjects - focusing on prevention, and not punishment.
In this course, we will discuss the importance of, and strategies for, differential instruction - honing in on supporting students at the individual level.
This course will take a deep dive into each of the Teaching Works 19 High-Leverage Teaching Practices, a Michigan Department of Education selected framework, to create a baseline for coaching and support of strategies to be implemented in the classroom.
This deep dive will connect theory to the day-to-day practice, explore challenges within each and leverage peer interaction for growth opportunities.
