What's your favorite high school memory?! The best high school memory that I will remember forever would have to be each of the homecoming weeks that we had each year. Every time homecoming came around the entire school was just vibrant with school spirit, dressing up each day with the theme, showing our pride to be WCA cougar at the end of the week. Homecoming brought so much energy to the school, with competition amongst the classes in light of the big game at the end of the week. These weeks just brought out the true joy of high school and being able to be with friends and teammates, but feeling like family. These weeks will always stick with me in remembering my high school experience. From dances to games and competition, each part brought memories that I will always remember.
Extracurriculars have played a big part of my high school career. I am a four sport athlete in cross country, soccer, basketball, and golf. I am also President of the student council at Will Carleton Academy, and a member of the Be Nice mental health organization. All of these have helped shape the person who I am today, making me determined and passionate for other's happiness. After I graduate I hopefully plan to play basketball in college. Basketball is the sport that I love the most. During this years season I averaged a double-double and was named the first-team all county, while being a two-year captain in all four of the sports I played. My love for these sports allows me to think that I will always have a part of them in the future.
Over the past 13 years of my life, I have been impacted by so many educators that have taught me all that I know and all that I comprehend on a daily basis. But when it comes to inspiration, I would have to say my mother would be first. Colleen Vogt is my mother, but more importantly she is the principal of Will Carleton Academy and has been for all 23 years of its success. As an educator she taught me how to be independent and determined in my school work. This has given me character and has taught me not only how to be a better student, but a better person. This experience and teaching that she brings into education everyday brought me to enjoy school and love the environment that Will Carleton has to offer.
